And said unto him, Behold, thou art old, and thy sons walk not in thy ways: now make us a king to judge us like all the nations. (1 Samuel 8:5)

 Around 800 years God kept, led, guided, and provided for his chosen people, the seed of Abraham. Around 1120 B.C. Israel asked Samuel to make someone a king to judge them "Like The Rest Of The World" (1 Samuel 8:5).
 “Samuel prayed to the LORD. And the LORD said unto Samuel, Hearken unto the voice of the people in all that they say unto thee: for they have not rejected thee, but they have rejected me, that I should not reign over them” (1 Samuel 8:6-7 KJV).
 Israel's request was the downfall of Israel. The Bible teaches when God's people choose the standards, the pleasures and the ways of the world. God slowly rejects those who were once his people.
